Glenross Kalutara

Glenross is a rarity - a traditional planters' bungalow outside the central highlands. It is about 45 minutes inland from the west-coast town of Kalutara and is set on a 60-acre rubber estate with magnificent mountain views. Although the access road is steep and winding, the journey is fully worth it.
We recommend that you spend a minimum of two nights at Glenross in order to experience the surrounding nature and plantation life. The journey from the international airport will take up to 2.5 hours.
This century-old plantation bungalow has been caringly refurbished maintaining its old architectural features including Georgian windows, gabled roofs, and stone walls. The interiors are tastefully decorated with Dutch period antiques and plush sofas. The bungalow is rented per room or in its entirety and can accommodate up to eight adults. Extra beds are put in for children. Rooms are spacious and there are plenty of lounging and dining spaces to ensure privacy.
A professional chef will attend to your meal requirements.
There is also a small basketball court. For a relaxing massage, a therapist can visit Glenross with prior notice.
The surrounding 60 acres of rubber and tea plantation is ideal for nature walks. A mountain trek can be done accompanied by one of the staff from the bungalow. Observe as the villagers go about their morning work of rubber tapping, followed by a visit to the nearby Glenross factory where the rubber is processed.
