Overview: Built on a sprawling spread of approximately 5 acres, about 5 minutes’ drive from the town of Habarana, the chalets are located in hiding, preserving as much privacy and sanctuary as possible. The fact that there is no barrier or fences (to preserve natural trails and to reduce a much a possible the effect of encroaching on nature) erected around The Other Corner in no way diminishes the sense of solitude and peace one feels.

Along with the basic comforts of life that we take for granted like pipe borne water & electricity, The Lodge & all chalets are air- conditioned as well as fitted with modern toilets equipped with hot& cold water. Meals provided range from local rice & curries to a wide range of international cuisine. Private dining is also provided on request. Free wireless internet facilities is also available in all areas of the hotel.

• Tree Cottages

These chalets ideally for two, built off the ground to resemble tree-house style living have a wood-finish exterior and interior and are equipped with the same amenities as the other chalets. The cottages are strategically built to blend in with the background of the un spoilt jungle, making it a birder’s delight.

The latest addition to the Tree Cottages is 2 more units this time for 3 persons in each. These delightful cottages are interconnected through a stairwell from within the room which makes it fun and adventurous for families travelling together. An extra en-suite washroom is an added advantage in these unique wooden lodging.

• The Lodge

Built above the ground so as to reduce the impact of encroaching on the natural trails the elephants take during the dry spell, while also providing a view of these magnificent beasts as they walk underneath, the lodge is given a natural look with clay & wood. The plank stairway & wooden furniture being the first thing a visitor notices, the lodge makes sure that guests enjoy the best of camping in comfortable & convenient surroundings. The lodge houses two family rooms with attached bathrooms and have interconnecting doors to accommodate up to 7 persons. These closest rooms to the water, allow a magnificent view of the lake and surrounding flora & fauna and offer an extensive deck area which can function as outdoor living or dining space.

• Chalets

The ground floor ‘Chalets’ come with the option of additional beds for triple bookings and have both a front & back patio which may also be used for private dining if required. One unique ‘Chalet-for-two’ is equipped with a jacuzzi.

The ‘Twin Chalets’ have the option of being booked separately for 3 to 4 persons or have inter-connecting doors to function as one unit if you are a large group. The large modern toilets have both sunken baths as well as walk-in open showers.
