Hatton - හැටන්
Hatton is a laid back town with nothing much to do other than get totally lost in the beauty of the scenery that surrounds you, the climate is ideal to just relax and take a slow walk into town or up a hill of green tea, cool breezes blow whispering softly a silent poem of the creator, soothing, calming your senses until you never want to leave, the sun sets over the hills, and the beauty impending almost takes your breath away, viewing some of Sri Lanka's best and most well known waterfalls is also a possibility while holidaying in these parts.
Hatton is a small town in the Nuwara-Eliya District, Central Province of Sri Lanka, a notable centre of Ceylon Tea plantations and industry. It is notable that companies operating island-wide like Hatton National Bank and Brown & Co. Ltd. were founded in Hatton. Located in the Colombo-Badulla railway line, and Avissawella - Nuware Eliya main Road (A7) the town serves as a gateway to Adam's Peak pilgrims, Nuwara Eliya and tourists.
Situated in central Sri Lanka, in the heart of the Tea Country, at an altitude of 4000 feet., accessible by car from major cities on mostly good roads. The road from Colombo is good and travels through beautiful scenery taking approximately four hours one way. (Distance From Colombo : 124 km)
