Habarana - හබරණ

Habarana is a small city in the Anuradhapura District of Sri Lanka. The city is famed for its chain of high class tourist resorts. Habarana is a popular tourist destination for safari lovers as it is the starting point for safaris into the nearby Habarana jungle (which are most often conducted on elephant back) and the Minneriya sanctuary which is heavily populated by elephants. Distance From Colombo : 174 km Elephant back riding is also an attraction in this small city. Habarana is situated nearby to the Eighth Wonder Of The World Sigiriya and is situated on the main road from Colombo to Trincomalee & Polonnaruwa. Habarana is actually the most centralized place to stay while visiting the wonders of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka, as it affords easy access to almost all sites of importance and is an ideal middle point or base station when visiting and holidaying in this area.
